Viridian One Mixed-Use Development in Tallahassee, Florida, is a key entry featured to the larger multifamily community created by Zimmer Development over several years. 3North hosted their very first virtual Intangible Qualities (IQ) Charrette with the design team for a deep dive into the essences of Zimmer Development’s vision. A design dossier born from the event challenged the team to design a mixed-use development with high-end student housing, retail spaces for the public as well as an entryway to the Enclaves at College Town site. The proposed solution takes advantage of unique location of sunny Florida with resort style pools, plenty of outdoor amenities, and a linear secured gateway for students to safely walk through the site.
At the northernmost entrance to the Enclaves community, 3North designed the a series of buildings for a higher end living experience, as students transition to more focused and sophisticated living. The facades draw inspiration from Florida vibrant lifestyle, with colorful interventions to highlight pattern and create texture. The use of both Florida native plants and tropical plants will create a lush landscape palette and create Midcentury Florida resort vibes. The group of buildings act as a gateway to the overall Enclaves development.
