On this highly visible project for the city of Richmond, 3North worked with the Economic Development Authority of the City as client, the state of Virginia as property owner, Bon Secours and the Washington Commanders as tenants, and the Science Museum of Virginia as important stakeholder and neighbor — all requiring a high degree of management and coordination on 3North’s part. Within a dramatically compressed schedule, 3North navigated complex regulatory requirements and delivered the project successfully, on-time and on-budget. Although not a state capital outlay project, the State’s ownership of the property required review by the State Division of Engineering and Buildings for compliance with the CPSM. The design of the completed, state-of-the-art Training Center includes the 2-story, 40,000sf building with training, weight, and locker rooms, a men’s health clinic, two NFL-caliber practice fields, fan and visitor viewing areas, and a community park. The project integrates sustainable design solutions throughout and earned the project LEED Silver certification.
