Through the emphatic use of layered walls, intricate trim, and neutral tones, the transformation of this apartment into an elegant retreat reflects the owners’ desire to create a tranquil refuge in the heart of a bustling city.
This layered theme extends to the ceilings that draw the eyes up, enhance the volume of the spaces, and offer opportunities for dramatic lighting. Coupling this with a more open floor plan allows for natural light from the large perimeter windows to penetrate the space and offers diagonal views across the living room, dining room, kitchen, and terrace.
This theme continues to the Primary Suite and is then contrasted in the Primary Bath, much like that between a shiny pearl and the oyster’s darker outer shell, where the space transforms from the muted tones to more crisp white surfaces, bright hardware, Carrara marble floors, and clear and mirrored glass.
